Protect vital paper documents and photos from thieves, heat and flames with this electronic, digital locking steel box. The box holds 8-1/2 by 11-inch paper flat, and is constructed with double steel walls for optimal security, and is fire insulated for protection from flames and heat. Choose your own digital combination and reprogram it any time for simple access and peace of mind. Digital locking mechanism and electronic key ensure quick entry, and a flexible carrying handle means simple transport. A key- override feature lets you in should you forget the combo, and the unit's foam liner helps protect valuables from jostling when you're on the go. The box weighs 9-1/2 pounds, and is backed with a limited warranty. --Brian D. Olson

Very Pleased

I just got this security box, but so far I am very pleased with it. It appears to be well made and I do not have any problems with the digital lock. I reckon the problem the previous reviewer had was the key is an "overide". You have to turn the key to the lock position and then the digital lock will function. If the key is in the unlock position, it overides the digital lock and it won't lock. They even give you a black plastic cap to cover up the key hole, because once you lock the box with the key, you shouldn't have to use it again, except in the case of an emergency
Simple to use, no fumbleing with keys.

I've been using this daily and have no complaints. It is as secure as your average lock box. Key pad is simpler to use than keys. Has a key back up should the battery fail.

This small safe is perfect for storing medicines! No key needed, just a self-programmed code (like an ATM code). When batteries weaken or die, use key to bypass the code, change the batteries, no need to re-program code. Works very well.
Fantastic way to secure your stuff

This product is very strong and simple to use. I wouldn't look to it to be a very high-temp firebox but for light duty in a dorm room or around snooping roomates or others it should be fantastic.
